Rhinoplasty is one of the most sophisticated and requested procedures in aesthetic surgery. The nose sits at the center of the face, and its size and shape strongly influence facial identity. A balanced nose is reflected in harmonious proportions, a regular bridge, suitable width, refined nostrils and a natural relationship with the rest of the face.
The symmetry of the face is often connected to the nose. A large, crooked, asymmetric, drooping or very wide nose can affect self-confidence, while internal nasal deformities can also cause breathing difficulties, fatigue, disturbed sleep and reduced performance in daily activities. Rhinoplasty corrects both aesthetic and functional defects of the nasal structures.
The goal of DERMOLIFE® surgeons is to prioritize the functional aspect while improving the aesthetic appearance of the nose and the whole face. Their deep knowledge, years of experience and advanced aesthetic surgery techniques allow them to achieve natural results for each individual: a beautiful, healthy nose in full harmony with the face and personality.
DERMOLIFE® aesthetic surgeons recommend rhinoplasty when you have:
► A nose that is too large or too small for the face
► A very wide or high nose compared with the forehead
► A crooked, asymmetric or humped nose
► Hereditary nasal deformities or previous fractures
► A large, pointed or drooping nasal tip
► Very wide nostrils
► Dissatisfaction after previous rhinoplasty surgery
During the first 48 hours after rhinoplasty you should rest. From the third day you may return to a calm normal routine, avoiding strenuous activities, saunas and steam baths. Avoid sun exposure, hot food and hot drinks. Sports should be avoided for at least one month. Swelling and bruising around the eyes may appear in the first days. Seven days after surgery, the surgeon removes the plastic support from the nose.
PROCEDURE
1. CONSULTATION
Rhinoplasty is a delicate and highly personalized operation, so it requires a detailed specialist consultation. During the first visit, the DERMOLIFE® surgeon evaluates the functional aspect, congenital or acquired deformities, nasal angles, the bridge, width, tip and nostrils, as well as the relationship between the nose, cheeks and chin. After discussing your wishes and expectations, the surgeon explains the realistic aesthetic and functional results that can be achieved and gives precise instructions for the pre-operative and post-operative period.
2. ANESTHESIA
Anesthesia is one of the most common concerns before surgery. Depending on the case, the DERMOLIFE® medical team may use local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia. Modern anesthetic drugs allow a safe procedure, a smoother wake-up and faster recovery.
3. SURGERY
The operation follows a precise protocol designed for quality, safety and natural results. It usually lasts from 2 hours to 2 hours and 30 minutes. Rhinoplasty may be closed, with incisions inside the nose, or open, with a small incision at the base of the nose that does not leave visible marks. The aesthetic procedure can also be combined with functional septoplasty or other facial procedures when appropriate.
4. AFTER SURGERY
DERMOLIFE® surgeons follow patients through recovery. Immediately after the operation, a small plastic or plaster support is placed on the nose. In the first 48 hours you should rest, then return gradually to normal activities while avoiding heat, sun exposure and sports. The first visible improvement appears within the first weeks, while the final result settles over the following months.
